Would 3 of these (2 on handlebars and 1 on helmet) be better than say, a set of Hope 4’s and a joystick.

Do any of you use this torch?

    Cheers

well if the are 900 lumens as stated then yes they will do you well.

but you’ll still be shelling out £180

I’d rather buy the Exposure MaxxD off MtbMatt in the classifieds for £20 more and then save again for a joystick or diablo

3 of those will be a huge amount of light – one will be fine, two more than plenty

You can buy those or similar torches cheaper but you have the security of buying from a a uk supplier

Run time will not be huge – a couple of hours tops so you need to carry a spare battery.

Id buy a deal extreme mtb light for £50 and then a deal extreme torch for £20.

They arent 900 Lumen output either, more like 450 – 500

    Cheers for advice so far,

May be a stupic question, but how about a troute lib 3, or the set up mentioned above.

a Troutie for sure, I probably wouldnt bother with the setup above if its going to cost you £180.

I have one P7 torch on my bars, I use it for road riding. Its bright but it wobbles about a little, also they can have reliablitlity issues. You will also need to carry 3 spare batteries around with you.

For offroad stuff I’d get a proper mtb light and one p7 for your helmet.

Go on deal extreme, you can get a proper mtb light for £50 and a p7 torch for £20

I am a bit concerned about the wobble factor of mounting p7 torches on bars.

I used to use one of these mounts and it was shit: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15342

    These ones are better: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.31871

The torch doesnt move about, but it wobles a bit on bumpy roads so I imagine it will be worse off road.

I’d get something like this for the bars though: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

And then a torch for your helmet
