I did it up gorilla tight previously as it had worked loose a few times, bad move as I’ve now rounded off a pinch bolt trying to remove to check out some play in the BB.

Would prefer to save the cranks if possible, but not shy about knackering them up and replacing with the BB which seems like it needs doing anyway.

    Any tips?

Tighten the good bolt up a bit more before trying to undo the bad bolt.
Failing that working drill the head off the bolt, remove the crank and you should be able to wind the rest of the bolt out with a pick.
If you’re struggling give it to Tom to sort out. I hear he’s a top notch bodger. 😉

Tried over tightening the good bolt but couldn’t get enough on the bad one to free it, also tried driving a slightly bigger torx but in there but it pops straight back out as soon as I get the spanner on it.

Will try drilling but not confident with my drilling skills…

If you’re really stuck bring it round here and I’ll get it out for you.

You could try drilling from the other side as it may undo the screw as it will be trying to turn it in the undoing direction.

If you remove the plastic jobby in the gap you could cut the screw but then it will be a pain to remove.

Cheers Stu, I’ll have a crack at it over the weekend.

    Tom’s going nowhere near it!

It will be until you back off the pinch bolts.

    Is the correct answer.

I can’t trust a man who puts pedals on facing inwards…

Or a man that drinks vodka and orange.
