It is a good film, but doesnt go for the complexity of the original BBC series adaptation. The latter you really have to concentrate.

Got it recording, I have been meaning to watch this since it came out at the cinema.

I’d disagree with Stoner – the film is far more nuanced/oblique. However there is no disputing how magnificent the Guinness version is.

Ratatouille on BBC3 much more my level… 😆

It is excellent. Slow burner as said but I love it. Really captures the atmosphere of the day..
Love the understated nature of it.

Works well if you have read the book. Watched it originally with my wife who hadn’t and she couldn’t follow it.

But I really liked it.

The latest film is great. Oldman is one of the finest actors out there. So versatile.
