After last years 6 months of GP bothering with my left knee and Fractured leg and also my shoulder my right knee has now started being a pest.
About one month ago i was cycling up hill and my right knee suddenly made a pop noise and then started to be excruciatingly painful. Went straight home and took some pain killers and iced it. There was no swelling just pain. Decided to stay off the bike for a few weeks and the pain eased to just a dull ache when resting and a sharper ache when going up and down stairs.
Tried a short ride and the pain came back about 25 mins into the ride, decided to just ignore it, and it got increasingly worse as the ride went on. That was last week. Yesterdays ride same again. I thought it might be my seat height, but when i got the bike last year i suffered only pain in my left knee which was due to a torn meniscus and not long sice recovered from a fractured leg.
Also when i was post op from meniscus surgery in December i started cycling again in feb and the only pain i had was from my left knee. But as that healed there was no pain till i felt the pop in my right knee a month ago.
The pain is on the Anterior medial area in the knee just to the left of my right patella. It feels like i’ve been kicked in it.
Also have pain when sitting down. Would it be wise to just carry on cycling or go straight to the GP?
