Something foreign I’m guessing. Very hard wood. Almost oaky grain.

Whatever it is don’t leave it lying around or McMoonter will ‘recover’ it.

It’s deffo not a standard issue Quercus, as it’s more shrubby in stature

What is that in the bottom left hand corner of the final pic? Ceramic? It won’t burn well if it is.

    Holm Oak if it’s evergreen?

    Or was evergreen?

Holm oak (Quercus ilex) is a good bet. Often seen as hedges so could account for its shrubby nature.

Split it now and it’ll burn next winter.
Did you want something more specific?
Holm oak is a good guess based on ever green-ness, doesn’t look dense enough or ever-green enough for yew. What shape leaf? If it’s anything garden or ornamental, the book is wide open.

Its long been dead, on the fire as we speak, slow burn lots of heat.
Its something ornamental im guessing. I really cant remember what the leaf looked like.
