  • Threading anchovies?

I just had a play with my newly acquired tubeless repair kit in the garage with a double holed control casing spec tyre, just to see how easy it is…

Firstly I am very impressed, if I’d had this kit when I initially damaged the tyre, I definitely wouldn’t have had to resort to fitting a tube…

But can anyone advise on a good technique for threading the anchovies into the tool?
I had to resort to using pliers to pull it through both times, that’s got to cost valuable seconds on the trail…

    Any tips?

    Leave one in the tool.

Don’t worry already found this thread from a couple of months ago, probably deserves to be made a sticky…

I’ve never threaded it, just poked the middle bit into the hole so that two ends stuck out, always seemed to work

Yep, just lie it over the hole and push it in.

    Ahem….

Didn’t Chips post a video a few days ago showing TMo’s backpack trick to keep anchovies ready for action. It’s also in the latest magazine.
