Do TdF riders feel greater pain than we joe bloggs but are conditioned to block it OR do they feel the same pain as us but at higher thresholds?

Village fete today was part of the centenary celebrations at the Three Kings pub in Hanley Castle. 100 years in the same family. And very little has changed in that time. Still £2.20-2.40 a pint too.

Also two steam tractors – one was an old docklands lorry that used to work out of Southwark. Salvaged in the 70s. Lovely smell of coal and steam.

Anyone know anything about ‘CWS’ (Cooperative Wholesale Society) bikes from around the 1950s? Found a road bike called a Gipsy Moth when starting to clear out my grandparents’ house+garage
