I have memories of reading about these, but I cannot remember or find who sells them. Anybody know?
Rubber spirals that you wrap around a cable, ideal for brakes and stuff you do not want to cut. Thanks, Wally.

    It’s usually called Spirawrap.

Ebay, Maplins, RS Components, vehicle or boat shops.

    I think OP means these:

Any LBS who has an ISON distribution account can order them for you.

eBay is the cheapest. I just searched for frame protectors and loads of them came up.

Didn’t know these existed – thanks for the heads up guys. I’ve now ordered a couple of packs.

I tried a similar product and they still rubbed the frame. As soon as mud gets on them they hold it and act similar to no protection. You are better off just protecting the frame.

Seem to be fine on the road bike but I expect that doesn’t pick up as much crud.

Well mine will be invisiframed so will be protected. I have my standby Decathlon foam ones if I need to intervene.

I prefer the Jagwire protectors but they need installed as you do the outer cabling

    The Fibrax ones are shite.
They keep falling down the cable and ending up doing nothing but trapping shite in them.
I’ve also got some Decathlon ones that are a whole lot better, but also more difficult to fit as you need the remove the cable/hose to get them on.

If you can get hold of rubber tubing you can make them yourself. Cut about an inch of tube then cut a spiral in. They will naturally stay on the cable because they will want to go back to the tube shape.
