Been tasked with cooking duty tonight and have bought the meatballs and jar of sauce to make the spaghetti meatballs shown on their TV ad. Except I have no idea how to cook the meatballs without decimating them or killing anyone.

Is it simply a matter of gently frying them until they go brown, or is there more to it than that?

    Thanks very much!

    Dave.

Just put them in the pan with the sauce to cook
nice gentle simmer mind – 30 mins should do it

I would fry them in a little oil first – perhaps chili oil – just to brown them a bit, otherwise they may end up like Heinz spaghetti mush.

Not a patch on Ikea meatballs from the frozen section though – I kid you not.

Yup seal them by gently frying them first don’t boil them in sauce. BLEH!

If you want to jazz it up a little – chop up some red onion and fry that with the balls before adding the sauce, then toward the end of the simmering add a little fresh basil. Serve with freshly grated parmesan and cracked black pepper.

Get small to medium oven dish, bit of olive oil in the bottom, place meat balls in, cover in sauce of choise and bang in a preheated oven (180 to 200 deg C) on the middle shelf for 25-30 minutes.
