One of the most common bite areas for the Mediterranean Black Widow (Latrodectus tredecimguttatus)was a man's ..ahem.. Widows like a dark damp area and so could often be found under the rim of an outside loo. As a man sat down his jangly bits would be "presented" to the spider who would often take offence. 😯

The man was treated with anti-venom medicine sent from the regional hospital in Whangarei.
