I’ve been looking for some pliers that ‘open up’ rather than compress, but the only ones I’ve found are circlip type ones.

Surely someone, somewhere makes pliers that do this?

Millions of normal pliers but none that you can open something up with…

    This is an opportunity…..

They do exist and I’ve seen them but for the life of me I can’t think what they’re called.

Yep – I’ve got a pair for opening jewellery, catchily named “ring opening pliers” for ball closure rings.

    Thus and so.

    cheers

the ring-opening ones are the circlip type I mentioned above though. I want a proper flat end to them.

Those Tesco ones have potential though, although they look cheap/flimsy

    agreed

the best I’ve found are these, which aren’t that far from what I want.

You can get brake piston pliers for motorbikes but they only go as small as 16.5mm
