I don’t know what you’d call this (“perforated leisure shoe”??), but “sandal” is the wrong word for it. 😯
You know you’re going wrong when you find yourself talking about a “sandal” being good because “They have a proper protective enclosure for your toes and a full length tongue to cushion the top of your feet from the straps”. Mongrel hybrid footwear. Neither one thing nor t’other.
If we’re going to have a long, hot summer, I shall be wearing PROPER sandals with holes in them, like Jesus. And if I get a bit chilly doing that I shall be wearing stripey socks under them.
I rather like the look of those for those long summer non-technical rides. Would be lovely for a jaunt across the Plain, or the leafy green tracks around Greenham Common way. Thanks for pointing them out…!
I use them for dinghy sailing and warm weather yachting and they’re lovely. Really nice ventilation, but not too exposed. Would be a great summer ride shoe. There’s not really anything that well ventilated for bike use.
