Weekend break in Stockholm booked. Any suggestions? Three nights only, no bikes, no car

Sit in the Berzelli Park outside Berns, soaking up the rather lovely views.*
    Eat at Prinsen. Stunning.
Drink at the little street bars, roped off along Birger Jarlsgarten.

*Stockholm is very much a Black Iridium city.

We visited some friends out there this time the other year, the highlights where Kayaking round the middle of town (it’s all islands innit), fresh sushi, drinking mead in a longhall and riding the Dalbeattie style rock slabs in the woods of Hästhagen (I think)

Go to the vasa museum. It really is awesome. Like the black pearl from pirates of the carribean

Johan och Nyström on Söder for espresso
Walk from Slussen down to the south end of Söder
Have 5 interesting beers in Oliver Twist – also Söder

Tuesday night at the bottom of Hammarby Backen at 18:00 for mtbing
Watch out as the Lidingöloppet is end of Sept – the island will be busy!
Ferry out to Sandhamm always good or to ANY island, especially from the centre of town

Gammla stan is where all the tourists are but defo worth a visit.
Second the Vasa – walk from Central station down to the Vasa and then have a wander or cycle around Djurgården
Take the train to the end of the line at Saltsjöbaden – big hotel there for dinner and nice marina boatie feel.

Swim in a lake. Pick any one.

    Fab place 🙂

Another vote for the Vasa. They built the museum around the boat…it is truly amazing when you first walk in and see it.

City hall is also good as is the Noble Museum. Mostly though I would go to lots of coffee shops and soak up the city’s wonderful atmosphere.

Thanks guys, we’ll definitely do some of those. Mrs_d is an ABBA fan so no doubt I’ll have to put up with a bit of that too 🙄

Yes to Vasa again. One of the best ‘museums’ I’ve been to.

Also get a ferry to Fjaderholmen for fresh smoked prawns (you have to like prawns a lot…) but actually for the homebrew pub waiting for the ferry back.
