    im looking for things to do with a mate of mine who is visiting from New zealand,

    we have to make a journey from cornwall to bristol on his last day but have the whole day to kill, so does anyone have any ideas?
    i think wel be heading of route to Stonehenge…

    My knowledge of geography of that area is not great but lunch at the ring of bells in bovey tracy – I went there a few years ago and I will always remember it as almost a distillation of an English country pub. Dartmoor ish

    If you're going to detour that far, go to Avebury rather than Stonehenge – muchos better.

    Or just go to Bristol? A great city with masses to see and do.

    Assuming you are starting in Cornwall, Lands End by any chance? then the Eden Project would be a good place to go although you need to go for at least half a day to do it justice.

    In Devon then driving through Dartmoor would be good, if the weather is OK, the scenery is fantastic.
