Calling Thetford locals-How are the trails at the moment? I’m in Centre Parcs next week and want to get a few rides in. Thinking about taking the road bike if the trails are a mud fest.
Thanks in advance for any replies

I did both ‘red’ routes and the BCP side yesterday and there were only a few small sections with mud. The sandier sections are actually faster this time of year than they are in the summer.

A lot of the brandon side was re sanded for the winter series round in dec so it’s riding nicely. There are some honking muddy sections but generally it’s fine. Get onto timber web forum for group rides etc, if your around mon night and have lights we’d love to see you.

Brandon side is riding well at the minute. In fact everywhere is except the reds. There are a few closures on them as well for forestry work.

Avoid the old black (Lime Burner red or whatever they’re calling it now) in the winter as it’ll just be a series of puddles over and over again. The other red should be alright for the majority of it, but will still have some nasty sections.

Your best ride will be on the off piste stuff, especially over the Brandon side, although some of it might still be a little cut up from the recent race over there.
