Well Sid has done it again; a half arsed attempt at catching something and now it has escaped and apparently living in my kitchen. (odd smell, pull everything out..droppings..trail of food scaps )

2nd time this has happened. Time to pull the kitchen apart. I cant be the only one with a cat-fap that suffers this, surely?

I came home to a disemblowelled, headless rat on my PALE hall carpet on Wed night.

Now its PALE with BLOOD marks all over one bit that I can't get out.

    Cat seemed happy though.

Pan fry with shallots, garlic and sun dried tomatoes, garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan.

Kitchen disassembled, bleached and scrubbed. No rodent found, but rodent evendence. (Maybe Sid did finish the job)

Reassembled with 4 various-sized inhumane mousetraps ready to roll.

Had a word with the cat….

    Play hide and seek:

(The second mouse that tried this popped the earth-leakage. Twice. Then escaped. Clever bugger.)

Bait the little f**ker. Rats are clever, so don't bait it with food they can drag away. 'Paint' a brick with cat food. Rat comes out to lick the food off of the brick (seeing as it can't run off with it). Do that enough days, then introduce some crushed up Warfarin (rat poison) into the cat food.

You may want to keep the cat away from the poisoned food. You may not. Depends how annoyed you are with it for letting the rat go in your kitchen!

Years ago before the gun ban got one of these bleeders with a S&W 357 Magnum
(massive bollocking from the range officer too)

Didn't know they exploded into that many bits

Not a good idea these days and probably worth about a ten year stretch

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Slightly overkill and not strictly accurate, think the 454 Casull generated a bit more muzzle energy
Cylinder only took five rounds because the walls needed to be thicker

Now that really would get rid of the darned rat
