    It goes something like this:

If you are happy with your weight eat whatever you want and exercise however much you want to.

If you are heavier than you’d like to be eat less and move much more.

If you are lighter than you’d like to be eat much more and move more.

    Simples.

Brought to you by Surrounded by Zulus, 12st, 6ft1inch, fit as a butchers dog, likes cakes and pies.

yeah for some common sense around here.
even though 107% of statistics are made up, only 3% of diets actually work. I reckon this could be the 3%.
(60% of the time it works all the time- ……. sex panther)

do phys, drink beer, eat pies, do phys, etc

[drinks small dram of Talisker from Homer Simpson Mug]

Alternately you could launch the ‘surrounded by actual Zulus’ diet, where you get chased across the African Karoo- quite a big place

This idea is so true, I like it. Forget fad-based pish, just equate calories in to calories out.

Inside him but they’re much smaller and weaker than a normal persons.

    The samuri diet goes thus.
Eat what you want. Work so hard at everything you do, you almost die.
    You’ll lose weight, trust me.

Woah, got a bit ‘scientific’ there for a second.

Oops, my bad. Worth trying the Viz approach instead.

Weigh yourself, go for a dump, weigh yourself again, and the difference is how much food you can eat.

    Much sense spoken here!

I was at work reading a trashy magazine once, and read out to some of the (supposedly educated staff) about a prof in America who “lost weight by eating only sweets and cakes”. They simply couldn’t fathom how he did it! Some wondered if they had laxatives in, others thought he made himself sick…
The concept of a calorie controlled diet, regardless of the foodstuffs, was lost on them!!

You’re only an inch and a half taller than me but weigh almost a stone more. Fatty! 😉

A colleague doing the Slim Fast shake thing had her ‘normal meal’ at work yesterday because her husband was away: lasagne and chips followed by apple crumble and custard 🙂

To give you an example of my diet, this morning I had some toast and jam, some cereal, a couple of bacon and egg rolls and two cups of tea. The exercise part included taking my boys to their running class and then out on the bikes for a couple of hours. That’ll be a nice big lunch and this evening’s curry well and truly earned.

sbz, there’s no way you can be ‘fit as a butchers dog’ and eat curry, cakes and pies, that’s just impossible, the world doesn’t work like that.

sbz+mike, I was taking the pish. I frequently consume vast amounts of food and beer for my size and have been doing so for years – not cakes and sweets though as they’re not my thing.

You know, it’s easy to be sarcastic, but I’ve rapidly lost weight on iDave despite eating quite a bit more calories than before…

See if I was rapidly losing weight despite eating more calories than before I’d be straight to the docs and making sure that I didnt have cancer.

    molgrips

It’d be right funny if I suddenly developed a cancer with no other symptoms at the exact same time I started a diet, wouldn’t it?

Strikes me that the people who are always telling you how easy it is to lose weight are the people for whom it is easy. Or who’ve never put it on in the first place.

Wouldnt be funny in the slightest. But sudden unexplained weight loss and all that…

    Funny as in strange.

It’s not unexplained is it? I’m on a diet.

If you are taking in more calories than you’re burning off and still losing weight then it is indeed unexplained.
