Not a huge Clint fan but he has made some GREAT movies.

His best westerns aren’t ‘just’ westerns which is what makes them great.

Unforgiven – astonishing film even ignoring genre.
Pale Rider – best ‘traditional’ western ever made?

(pretty much the same classic western story film deconstructed in two different ways for different contexts – could probably group The Outlaw Josey Wales in with these too)

Dirty Harry – pretty much defined cop films for the next 20 years?

Then we get to the guilty pleasures.

Firefox – as a kid seemed like Star Wars set on earth to me.
Every Which Way But Loose – just plain fun.
