The atmosphere has changed. Like when you are in a pub, and it’s all fine, then something is said, and instinctively everyone recognises a darkening.

There has been A LOT of news recently, all of it bad.

I overheard my young niece and nephew in the garden today and felt very sorry for them, I don’t know what kind of future they have ahead.

Not sure if there’s revolution in the air, but does seem that we’re on the cusp of a possible major change in the way politics and the public interact?

Last time I remember a similar feeling was back in the 80s, but I was not really old enough to understand the nuances and nothing really came of it other than riots and strikes.

Some kids said, “Nice bike, mister” as I rode past along the dusty drover’s road earlier this evening. So we chatted for a bit, and as we were all heading the same way, rode back in to the village together. Meanwhile, people are firing up the BBQ and enjoying a Friday evening with friends and family. Lovely evening.

The vast majority of people aren’t angry. In fact, on a day like today, the vast majority are in a rather fine mood, I’d wager.

I’ve had to wait 30 mins for my Chinese takeaway, it’s an outrage.

im just angry, contractors are allowed to install dodgy cladding,the government and councils fail to act, theresa mays a laughing stock and just a pre programed talking head.

Thankfully people are leading a revolution, against the idiots in charge who have this week totally failed to help those people who have lost everything, their homes,families and personal possesions .

The system is old and corrupt. You need to elect someone from outside the system, someone not constrained by its rules. Someone who can’t be bought or controlled. Someone who understands people. Someone who can fix what’s broken.

I’d recommend, in the nicest possible way OP, stop reading the papers for a bit. Look local. See what good is going on in your own back yard.

I’m tempted to take to the streets myself and demand the overthrow of the entire political infrastructure. But on the other hand there are some shelves needing put up and Doctor Who is on the telly tomorrow.

It always seems it will never happen until it happens.

But make no mistake, the establishment is rattled and it’s changing, the general election result shocked a lot of people, me included, Crobyn the old-school socialist was meant to be blown into the weeds, okay he didn’t win, they can talk it up as much as they like by the Tories still spanked them, but it made it close enough that May would jump into bed with the only party with MPs who’d have them, a bunch of God Bothering Flat Earhers who support terorisum, the very thing they attacked Corbyn over.

I think the UK swinged very right for a time, a combination of a long period of financial upset and fear of terrorisum meant a lot of people were looking for someone else to blame but we’ve seen what that looks like now and we’re coming back from the brink.

I check the odd online report when something has happened, but don’t watch the news everyday.

People are upset and scared/uncertain in the light of the shambolic election and recent tragedies, but the only people wanting a revolution are the media and a few idiots.

Turned off the news last night for the first time in decades. It wasn’t news. It was exploitative voyeurism interspersed with premature speculation, all designed to fill a 24 hour news schedule, but just giving unnecessary exposure to the idiots.

I’m pretty angry to be honest. I’m not affected at all by this other than being repulsed that the building owners would have known an were not forced to make the building legal, it’s basically a slum from the looks. Corners were cut in the management and maintenance of the building. Now a lot people are dead because of a flipping faulty fridge.

People seem pretty rioty at the moment, Kensington and Chelsea Council offices stormed by protests and now they are at at downing Street..

I don’t see revolution on the way, not with apathy as widespread as it is and surveillance at an unbelievable all time high.

Lots of us are angry for lots of disparate reasons, none of which are sufficient for us to take up the cudgel though. I have often wondered how bad it needs to get before the pitchforks and torches march, but I’d say we are a long way off yet. Not enough of us left that knew how free this country used to be and at an age where we could still raise arms.

The locals knocked those Socialist Worker banners up pretty quickly.
