Doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid. This, however….

Don't wrap it, I'll take it as it is, thanks.

Neither particularly classic designs. The Ferrari by a short head, only because of the continued lazy use of the DB grill.

The Ferrari looks stunning but prefer the current DBS compared to that Aston. Front just doesn't do it for me.

"Heritage" being the excuse they trot out every time. Take away that grill, and it could be a Nissan.

That Aston is hideous. And Aston really need to start making their cars look at least slighty different from each other. The Ferrari is lush though.

Yeah, the Aston better only be a show car. Couldn't see it being very poplier with those silly slots in the front.

And those strakes up the side, echos of McLaren/Mercedes there ???.

That Aston's very real. 'tis the One-77: Aston's limited run supercar/borderline "hyper" car. £1.1M each, IIRC.

Yep, it's very real. And very lovely.

Takes all sorts, I suppose. Italian cars have never really done a lot for me, apart from a 250GT California, that is….It is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

First Ferrari since the 308GTB that I've actually liked the look of. Impressed.

The aston – looks a bit out there, but the grille is a key feature of the marque. If you look at the designer paperwork for any car you'll see that they have key features they dont like to mess with. Things like BMW and their vertical grille and lights, Jag and the amount of overhang in front of the front wheels, as well as the shape of the valance. These are literally numerically valued in the design process and take a lot of changing because they are brand images.

I'm with cynic-al though, lambos all the way:

I drive a shitty 406 estate. I'd readily swap it for the Aston. Or the Ferrari. Or even the Lambo…….

The Italia is gorgeous. The Aston, as much as I love em is a horrible Dodge'esque thing. Follwed a DB2 through town yesterday that was nicer.
    Lambos?!?!
Aston needs to decide wether it's
    a)A gentlemens car
    b)A footballers car
C)A supercar in the mould of the great Italian cars.

I passed a DBS on the motorway the other day – much better looking in the metal. I'm guessing that the driver had a huge amount of points on his licence because he was doing about 60mph.

Incidentally I've seen loads of Astons lately – a couple every day for the last few weeks. Must be the good weather, but I haven't seen any Ferraris or Lambos at all.

If it was my money it would be a Gallardo. Or an old Dino 246. Maybe a Healey 3000. Maybe all of them.

In the meantime I'll go home in a 106.

Theres something about Lambo, its a proper blokes car. You can imagine a big scowling gorilla driving one.
Aston Martins are nice, in a nice sort of way, driven by people who notice the deliberate mistake put into each Bond film.
Ferraris, Driven by people who also wear posing pouches, have slightly long hair, and are on a day to day basis pretty useless…

    LAMBOS RULE OK !!!!

Bond drove a Bentley….Elephant's breath grey 1933 convertible with an Amherst-Villiers blower on the front of the classic 4.5 litre engine.

Is that my Q-branch anorak? Thanks. I'm off now.

Does it come fitted with a periscope to see over the air intake?

Do like that Ferrari, trouble is nowhere to put yer bike/surfboard and you'd have every Yoof in their "souped" up Corsa/Saxo racing you.

You need to qualify that "most powerful car ever" comment, production car? It wasnt exactly made in huge quantities and other one-offs have made far more power.

Cobras are lovely though, and seeing over that SC intake would be a pleasure.

0091 paddy, that's got to be a gang of the most 'wrecked due to chavving' supercars I have ever seen!

    I like the Ferrari
I am not too keen on the Aston & they are now very samey. I am normally good at identifying cars, but struggle with Astons.
That picture of the Murcielago above – who the hell went into a dealership & said……'one of those please in dull, floor paint grey please"

I'd love a car like that but it's never gonna happen!

I saw some kids in a hatch try to race a Gallardo from the lights a few years ago – the Lambo was in the next county before they'd even got into 2nd gear.

Ahh the McLaren F1 LM the best looking one. The shade of paint mixed with the carbon loveliness is simply fantastic.

In that sort of case the fun is in being beaten. I rememeber "racing" a Ferrari in my 1.1 litre 205 when i first learned to drive – we reached 100mph and he still hadn't even realised I was trying to keep up. My car never got above 80 again (its rated max speed was 82mph lol).

Best chuckle I've seen was two sport bikes at the lights near me on a dual carriageway late at night. Then a twin bike-engined, turbocharged kit car pulls up next to them (megabusa IIRC) – bikes had bearly cleared the junction by the time the car was too far away to read its plates.

True, but he did drive an Aston DB3 in the Goldfinger novel.

The One-77 is an aberration, the DB-9 is a honey however. Oh, and +1 for the 458 Italia: thoroughly modern and purposeful without too much fuss, yet still quite delicate looking.
