A kind soul from here once sent me a set of Skyway’s he’d found in his parents garage.

I once sent a forum member (pretty much a classifieds only bod I think) a “toughphone’ free of charge (and fully charged, come to that) and recorded delivery, with the caveat that he would maybe like to make a small donation to charity (his choice of charity or mine, I cannae remember). I didn’t get so much as a “cheers” or acknowledgement of delivery.

It’s nice to be nice.

Been there done that. Was not an STWer (neither, I doubt, a real Scandinavian!), but a thief cruising our classifieds for those with a guard down.

On the flipside – sterling awesomeness has arrived in others ways via real forum members, and I will back up the OP in a rousing cheer for the good and great.

the genuine help i have seen offered to people here often astounds me, from incredible donations of cash when i was raising sponsorship in memory of my friend, to people sending pretty high end bits of kit free to those desperate to get their bike rolling again, to people taking time to keep someone talking long enough to see it through the darkest of nights.

it may seem like the people on here would argue constantly but when the shit hits the fan this place is a reminder of how people the world over have a basic instinct to help one another out

True but not just on here though – the floods recently have really brought out the best in most folks. People are ace.
