I never know what to say under such circumstances, so I'll just to add my condolences to the list and to wish you well.

Elaine, I saw my grandma go through many years of pain. A strong old fashioned lady reduced to such a frail figure. When my dad told me she had died, all I could say was "thank God for that" which sounds cruel but isn't. A persons soul is what they leave behind when they are gone. You'll remember the happy times!

He was one of the main resons you have a chance at life, I hope that you and your loved ones are OK.
All that really matters is how we effect other peoples lives.
What we stand for while we still stand, for shortly we will all fall.

my thoughts are with you and your family; my father has been suffering from dementia for 8 years now. He's only 74.
A horrible disease and may I hope you enjoy the memories of him in happy times. I imagine you're in a rollercoaster of emotions; but I'm sure he's in a better place now.

Condolences to you and your family CG.
My own father has alzheimers and it has been painful watching him decline with the passing years, powerless to reverse the changes and also the increasing burden of care it places on those closest to the suffer.
