Went to Hamsterly Forest today and did the Black and the new Red section. Although we rode it all its very icy and slow going, my average speed was 5mph!! However it gets the heart pumping and the legs turning....Oh, and the ar$3 twitching!!

Rivington today was rideable with care in a "slipping on ice" stylee as all the hardpack snow had iced over again. Not really worth the effort TBH.
Anyone been upto glentress or inners recently? How are the xc routes...passable? Or is it hike a bike!
Laughs a hearty laugh at stuartanicholson.

And that was before it dumped an extra couple of feet last night.
Ah! Maybe i wont go for a ride tomorrow then...had in my mind that a few brave souls would have ventured out and cleared a path for me!
Plenty souls been out - there's just been that much snow.
6"+ on the isle of wight (living up to its name).
Couldn't get in to work this morning (mostly due to apathy, rather than snow), all sorted for a 1pm ride, work managed to get hold of me and lo and behold, spent the rest of the day attached to a PC on the VPN. BASTIDS!
So the ride i organised, i didn't even see. FFS. Haven't ridden in snow for 15 years. Not that im annoyed you understand.
AAARRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Some pics of the trails on the 7 stanes blog.

We were in work at Llandegla today, as well as the 2-3feet of snow lying on solid ice there will be considerable drifts on the top of the climb trail conditions are dangerous as the weight of snow has bought tress and branches down. Conditions are such a survey of the damage hasn't been conducted yet.
btw that's me with my little 'un.
Hoping for much slipprey roads tomorrow... shan't risk taking a FWD Transit van out round the hills and lanes of West Somerset/North Devon..
So,,, maybe MTB up on the "Tox" at some time
