Haha I opened the thread to post bastard !

As an aside I got over 20 bug bites on a ride recently – damp woods and mosquitos and biting insects galore. On the point of being quite grumpy indeed. Sudocreme to the rescue

Yep, I was going for bastard too.

Interestingly I’d not seen a midge before three years ago, but now I think I’m probably 30% midge gozz.

Having accidentally left the bathroom light on last night and the window open I’m going with ‘A bath-full of midges’

The sash in there in never closed (I don’t even think it will close now without a bit of work) so in the evening they come in, go straight up to the light, get fried, and fall. So while I’m in the bath I’m in a gentle rain of midges and end up with a black scum-like layer of midge corpses around me (along with the occasional moth that also spirals down from the light and gets stuck to my face)

This morning theres a heap of them in the bath.
