He was unsighted by the car infront of him, wasn’t he? Hopefully he’ll have learned an important lesson about following other people through overtaking manoeuvres.
Anyway, he must be right, HE’S BEEN PROPER POLICE TRAINED AND EVERYTHING. Where’s smurf mat?
Yeah… but… I sort of… you know… like and appreciate the police… 🙁
I know – I’m going to ask my copper mate who I play footy with, what he thinks I should do.
Portsdown hill? Not the widest of roads either. Whilst I totally agree its too close, they didn’t actually hit you. He should have been more careful with a low setting sun in his eyes though.
I’d let it go, realisically you’re not going to get much from it.
I get that DezB may not wish to cause undue harm by firing this across the Twattersphere this was careless rather than intentional but I do think that it should be taken up with them. The Emergency Services take their driving standards very seriously and given that no-one was actually hurt an approach to the local Head of Traffic might be best.

What he was trying to do, as far as I can see, was to give the other cyclist a very wide berth. And in doing so, he misjudged the situation.
This is frighteningly common IMO and I have been (nearly 😉 ) guilty of it myself. I would send link to HC. I think posting on their facebook/twitter is escalating the issue and may have unintended consequences – know what I mean?
Did a little bit of wee come out while you were riding along?
He’s actually given the other bike more room than the Porsche he is following. But his BMW is a good bit wider as well and that’s put him pretty much on collision course with you.
I would probably find the correct person to send it to rather than posting it on their facebook page. But it could have been a lot more serious
