Very nice cars, although the old ones including the DB5, do nothing for me. Hollywood came across OK too. He’s definitely wasn’t in James Martin territory.

    On the iPlayer now.

Agreed, the DB10 looked a bit good. Shame you can’t buy one!

What? A good cook and fair presenter but an absolute <expletive deleted> when it comes to classic cars?

I thought advertising was banned on the BBC until seeing that programme.

Hadn’t you noticed how many times the BBC refer to iPads as if they’re the only form of portable viewing device? (Other tablets are available…) Or iPhones as the only form of mobile communication device? (Other mobile phones are available).

I thought the front end of the DB10 looked dreadful.

Fat rich man boasting about his car for an hour. Put me off astons

Thought he camee across OK too. Was / am Hollywood agnostic.

Would have thought more of him if he’d got out of that ancient jalopy 😉 at the top of Aston Hill and nailed the DH course though.

Maybe becoming a DH racer will be the next episode?

    What next?
Jenson Button on the history of donuts?

I absolutely **** hate ‘celebrity’ presenters.

    It’s patronising and pathetic.

At least treat the public with enough respect to hire an expert in the subject.

Who gives a **** what some bearded ****, famous for adultery and little else thinks about cars?

    Piss well and truly boiled.

DB10 front looked a bit Peugeot 406 coupe and the rear looked like they had pinched it from the Jag F Type.

Shall we put you down as a “maybe”, Rusty?

    No.

And every Aston post Ian Callum’s masterpiece, the original DB7 six, is an ill proportioned, vulgar abomination.

    Thank you.
    I feel better now.

    Thanks for letting us know.

Was there anything else you didn’t watch ?

Won’t be able to sleep tonight if you don’t Come back and tell us.

    Not even the Vulcan? 🙂

FWIW, the DB7 and V21 Zagatos both fell out of the ugly tree. The 9 was OK, but nothing stunning. If anyone (else) mentions the Taraf, I may kill them.

DB2/4 Allemano, DB4GT or a nice Le Mans V600 for me, thanks.

Cool. I’ve never watched Emmerdale. Any chance that you could start a thread up about it as I’m itchin’ to contribute.

    A V600?

    Really?
Didn’t realise you had your HGV licence Flashy.

A bloody fast barge! But then, I like aero engined lunacy like the Napier Railton as well.

    Me too.

But come on, anything Aston made in the 70’s and 80’s is just terribly engineered, overbuilt, tasteless tatt.

    DB’s 2-6 are lovely things.
Everything after that, until the DB7, is just an overweight, ugly parody of what went before.

    Likewise everything post DB7.
    😀

The DB10 looks like it was designed by a blind Australian.

The V600 is 90s. And utterly tasteless, which is why I love it. Brutal, bullish, loud and arrogant. Perfect for me, wouldn’t you say? 😉

Oh, forgot a Tickford coach built saloon MKIII. Drooool.

    1890’s?

Isambard himself would have rejected it as crude and a bit weighty. 🙂
    Ugly, unwanted and irrelevant.

    Anyway, sorry Harry.
I thought it was a pretty good programme.

Apart from the odious, smarmy toe-rag of a presenter, obvs.

    Anyway, BBC4 now:

Sue Pollard and Wilf Lunn are discussing Ducati’s desmodromic system vs modern pneumatic valve actuation.

    Should be a cracker.

Can’t be doing with Wilf Lunn and his stupid straw boater. I shan’t be watching.

    Just thought I’d contribute.

Youcan’t, but there will be a DB11 along next year which you may find strangely familiar…

With some of it’s more, er, challenging style cues sorted out.

What a bizarre program. A fawning hour long advert for AM. Largely populated by knobs.

I much preferred watching James Martin break down in tears after ignoring his mechanic’s advice and blowing up the engine on his 1.5 million quid Mille Miglia entry.

I’m guessing the program was part funded by the Bond film people. I’d also guess that the Bond segment, and the DB10 bit, was cut back to make it less like a film promo. I don’t know if Hollywood starting learning how to be a racing driver before being asked to present, but I still enjoyed it, and I like the look of the DB10.

The DBR1 that featured is looking a bit sorry.

Yup, one of the most heartwarming TV segments ever.
On the other side, if I had the money and time I’d be all over an old AM Lagonda. Pure 70s excess.
