If you watched it, you watched it. I take it that it’s all action from the get go if you only needed a few seconds?

Personally I’m not sure it should be on there. Especially after deciding to watch it at Xmas with most of the family in the living room at the time. Its not like it even gives you a warning before it gets going…

Yeah why not, it’s passed by the BBFC.

Well, I DO have issue that they allow you family access, but it’s policed by a volantary system of choosing your name from a list, but that a parenting issue.

When they used to post DVDs out they used to have a Grot section, as did Lovefilm (now known as Amazon Prime Video by Post).

I hate Richard Curtis stuff too, turns my stomach. Must have been upsetting in front of the family.

Seriously, You, whilst sat amongst your nearest and dearest – chose, without research to watch a film called ‘Love’ with accompanying ‘cover’ pic of 3 people tongue kissing and you were surprised it was of a sexual nature?

Well, yes – it was a bit of a risk. But in my defense, I did think ‘well its on Netflix, how bad can it be’ and also that if it was a bit ‘blue’ then it would be apparent and I could watch something else without offending anyone. However if you’ve seen the first scene (I’m pretty certain there isn’t even some opening credits) you’ll understand that it’s straight down to business.

Even if it had been two people ‘at it’ in the normal terrestrial TV style of tactically placed bed sheets and a bit of grunting and snogging it wouldn’t have been so bad (massively awkward yes), but…well, its porn. Full frontal porn.

Just to be clear, I’m not some prude up for banning grot – there’s a time and a place for it. If it had been under an ‘adults only’ section or something then obviously I’d have given it the swerve, but it was sat there next to Paul Blart Mall Cop and Oblivion

Well, Hats off to Flange, I would have gone with Zombieland or The Good Guys or something, I’m too risk adverse for that sort of thing.

Wetlands is the film you should be watching – it is probably about a nature reserve or something.

They used to have a French film on there called ‘Basie Moi’. My French isn’t that good but I do like foreign language films. I learned what Baise means only afterwards.

Im pretty sure the synopsys says something along the lines of ‘controvertial euro love trist story with extremely graphic and uncensored sexual scenes’

Wouldnt exactly be my first choice of xmas family movie either..

OP, whatever you do, do not take your family into a French/Dutch/German ‘cinema’ for a quick family love story..

The movie itself, it’s rubbish aint it! Just wanted to smack that fella in the face for about an hour and a half – no wonder his Mrs jumped off a bridge.

You’d have to be ridiculously broad minded/inattentive to the point of harm to consider that a family movie. I’d be interested to understand what part of the synopsis, images or rating gave cause for confusion…..

You can easily set parental level on Netflix that hides this kind of stuff.

    SPOILERS!!!!

    1. If you manage to make it to the end of the movie, kudos to your uber patience/staying power
    2. I didn’t manage, not through lack of hydration, but through sheer boredom and rising character hatred, so I don’t actually know what happens – suffice to say, It’s likely I havent spoilt anything – other than a good hunch that the lead actress felt much the same way I did (which is elduded to in the opening few scenes).
    3. *SPOILER* The opening 5 mins are genuinely about as good as it gets – so knock yourself out then and thank me later

I’m less concerned with what’s on netflix than what can be seen on BBC1 at 9.10pm on a Monday evening. This Monday the kids were up at this time playing a board game and were treated to a not very subtle cunnilingus scene. I’m no prude, but it had me lunging for the remote control before they saw too much and started asking some awkward questions.

Flange: you should have checked before really. Make it up to the kids by putting the family friendly animated comedy Sausage Party on for them tonight.

It’s a surprisingly dull film despite the graphic content.

Far easier watch them his early effort Irreversible. I’m still recovering from that one…

Notorious trap for learner – un baiser (noun) = a kiss

however ‘baiser’ (verb) = to ****

hence ‘donne-moi un baiser’= give me a kiss
    but ‘baise-moi’ = ‘**** me’

Yeah…Really don’t watch Gaspar Noe films with the family.
Do watch Enter the Void though, brilliant film. But not with your family.

    No.

Knowing that it’s by the same guy as irreversible is enough to make me not watch. I watched that film in a room full of people, there were several rather long silences.

Ahem, a friend told me you can delete your viewing history in Netflix.
