On Sunday morning I noticed that the o-ring holding the rear mudguard bracket on my Defy Advanced had snapped.What I then saw rather alarmed me, the bracket is held tight by the o-ring against the seat stays and with it no longer held in place I saw that it had cut right into both seatstays. I’m not talking about a bit of wear but holes through both stays. The mudguards are Giant’s own specifically made for the Advanced frame. So if anyone else is using them please check your frame.
Anyway I took the bike into Giant Shoreham where I bought it on Sunday morning and within 24 hours had a call back from them to say Giant were shipping them out a replacement frame under warranty. Obviously I was very happy with that but I know a few people on here have the same bike and want to make sure that they check their’s if they’ve fitted these guards.
