A while ago I noticed my Fox fork lockout was not working, so it was time for a service. I sent my fork to TFTuned and they did a full service and replaced the bladder as it had split.
I got the fork back and stuck it back on my bike and went for a ride. The first ride back was great, nice and smooth, lockout working, all good.

Unfortunately, on the second ride I noticed that I was blowing through the travel and could compress the forks completely by pushing down. When I got home, I checked the pressure, which was less than 5psi. I pumped it back up and checked again in a few days, pressure fine.
I went for another ride and checked the pressure through out the ride, and the pressure kept dropping as I rode.

I sent the fork back, and it turns out a piece of grit had got into the forks at some stage and scored the stanchions, meaning every time the forks compressed a small amount of air would leak.
TF have replaced the uppers and refunded my shipping costs.

So, a big thanks to TFTuned for a quick resolution. I will be using them again for my shock servicing.

Don’t get that – there is no air held behind the wiper seals – only oil
Unless they mean the inside surface of your stanchions were scored?

Must be, that is where the pressure is. They did check if I had checked the air pressure before using it, which I hadn’t. I suppose there is a chance of introducing contaminants through your shock pump.

TF are awesome and turn around fork/ shocks really quickly which is key IMO. It is coming up to two weeks now of my forks being away with another suspension company 👿 Also quite remarkable that TF are one of the cheapest too so the great service doesn’t even cost much extra either- win!

Agreed. Just had a set of reba’s back from them and had progress update calls throughout (inc Saturday). Had the forks picked up, serviced and returned in the time it took ‘ANother’ competitor to even respond to my initial enquiry email.

    Awesome service!

used them for 10 yrs plus for annual services and always great results. First dealings with them was with the great Tim Flookes himself, when I wanted to get rid of the ropey Fox RL shock on my 04 Enduro. He sorted me with a Vanilla coil shock which transformed the bike. Been using TF ever since 🙂

Just had them service my Lefty for the first time. They made the whole process very easy from collection, helpful conversation with the guy doing the service then comprehensive notes and advice on what he’d done on return. Very impressed.

Conversely when I phoned them up for a bit of advice and to book a fork service the chap on the phone was so bloody rude I vowed never to use them again.

Fortunately now have a shop locally that specialises in fork and shock service. The added bonus is I don’t have to post using the Royal Mail…

I’ve called them for advice and recently sent a fork for service/repair. Good service fast turnaround, can’t fault them, so much so I’m seriously considering swapping my dropper for one they service as for the last 3 weeks it’s been at the distributors awaiting a service.

Used them for the 1st time a few weeks ago to service my reverb, totally hassle free, picked up on the monday, serviced on the tuesday, phone call later that day, returned back and on the bike wednesday night like new, well impressed at the turnaround, 😆

Been using them for over 10 Years now, back then i was on the Phone most Monday mornings after riding the previus two days trying to get my 5th Element dialed in.

I reminded Tim of this the last time i saw him and it transpired i wasn’t the only one trying to fettle the most confusing shock ever to be released.

Due to have my FOX 36’s serviced and rear shock PUSH’ed before the Alps trip this year.

Sounds more like Mojo than TF 😉 They have always been very helpful on the phone for me in the past and I think they can arrange their own courier to collect the forks if I’m not mistaken, so you don’t have to look for the forks in an auction house like when they’ve gone missing with Royal Mail 😀

They were good with my revs- the damper wasn’t (*) economically fixable so instead of upselling me an RCT3, they found a standard moco damper in a dead fork and basically charged me for the time it took to take it out, clean it and fit it. Nice.

Similiarly with Loco- I sent my shock asking for a retune, he called up and said “This doesn’t need a retune, it’s just borked, when I fix it you’ll like it again”. Totally honest, saved me money, cheers!

But I wasn’t delighted with the phone chat with TF, to be fair, the dude was pretty patronising- I said “Make my Revs dive less”, he gave me a load of waffle about air forks and about how it wasn’t really possible. So I just put in heavier oil and got exactly the result I wanted and had asked for

(* I am assuming this was true.)

i like that little sticker they put on my fork/shock innit 😀 impressive what they did to my fork tuning.

my other shock is due for service, might test the water with LoCo Tuning this time.

Had dealings with both Loco and TF Tuned. Fantastic service from each of them to be fair.

Reassuring. My aging vanillas are being collected tomorrow for some tlc next week.

Fingers crossed there are no horrors lurking within the forks…

So how much did the service cost that broke your fork 😯 ?

While I’m here does anyone know how long it takes a fully kitted up pro to fully service an average fork?
Some of you guys must be pretty adept at doing the full monty.. what’s your guesstimate?

I usually retire forks rather than send them for service as it does not seem worth spending £100 on forks that cost £200 2 or 3 years before.Seems to make more sense to buy the new model in a sale.

I like them. I have an irrational appreciation of the fact they send you back the bits they’ve replaced as part of the service.

    Hey everyone!

Thanks for the kind words; they are much appreciated by everyone at TF Towers. We work really hard to give you a great service & on the odd occasion where things don’t go to plan we’ll work even harder to fix it. If you ever feel you haven’t had the service you were expecting then please do call us and speak to Ian, TF’s hands on boss or myself (Ruth) & we’ll do our level best to make it right for you.

    Cheers.

TF ‘over 10 years of service happily sending you back those old bits we took out’ 😉

@tftunedshox I think it will be quicker and easier for me to send you my reverb stealth as the seal has gone and is dropping ! emailed CRC and they said it can take up to 2 weeks to sort under warranty !

Can’t wait that long for it to be sorted

Used them a few years back for a set of the old pikes, but now need to get my 36’s serviced and dithering between TF or Mojo. Any reason to use TF over Mojo given they are the approved guys?
