The Whyte had been a revelation for me, sitting as it does slap bang between a typical 100mm XC hardtail and a 'hardcore' hardtail. The head angle and 120mm forks have encouraged me to get a bit carried away (on more than one occasion) on the downhills and into the corners, but for the flat sprinty stuff the bike still responds rapidly and doesn't feel like you're dragging a tractor around with you. For some reason, it has also been the best climbing bike I've ever owned, or perhaps I've just been riding better since I bought it.
As you can tell, I'd perhaps rather not sell it, but injuries, work and other interests have kept me off it more than riding it, and as good as it is, I'd rather not use it as an introduction to Vancouver's North Shore!
Stock equipment except for the saddle (now a Gusset R, white) and brakes (Avid BB7s with Shimano XT levers, Elxir Rotors, work beautifully).i
Stock tyres (Maxxis Aspen). I ran the rear in all conditions, yes it was slidey on the corners but that suited the bike I thought, stick something grippier on the front and you'd be sorted.
I'll post pics/readvertise over the weekend, but for now am considering selling for £850 posted. Any Qs/offers/Old Specialized Pitches out there for swapsies?
