    Want a general torch (not for bike) and trotted off to Tescos for the faithful cree 3 watt AA only to find it is now a brandless 1 watt torch 🙁

    Is there much real life practical difference in light output or pattern?

    Does the downgrade mean the run time of the batteries is extended by any useful amount?

    I bought one and I think for the money it's really good. It's only £8.00, you won't be disappointed.

    not 100% as i dont have the packing but i thought the aa was always 1 watt and the c was 3?

    Nah, was definitely a 3 watt AA (I think there was also a C) as I still have the packaging from the old one I bought last year. It def states '3 watt Cree led'.
