Tell me about M&S home insurance (including bikes)

I've had a quote from M&S for home insurance and its quite competitive but I don't see anywhere to specify my cycles? It seems they have a generic 'possessions away from the home' option to cover them.

I've always had to specify my bikes before to cover them under home contents with other insurance providers.

Does anyone use M&S and have you had to specify your bikes?

As long as any one item is under £4k its covered, home or away.

So bikes, cameras, saddles (my wifes) etc

depends on the policy, if you have premium cover it's away from home as standard including accidental damage for a single item upto 4k.

On a standard policy, you can add the outside of the home cover, so if your bike is stolen at your place of work or on your commute etc etc it's still covered (just not for accidental damage - e.g if you damaged it yourself by accident)
