I’ve got a pair of 140mm Tower Pro 29er tapered forks but can’t sell them due to a couple of scratches on the stanchions. These are my spare forks so not currently on a bike.

    So…

I’m thinking of replacing the crown/steerer/stanchion unit with a 1 1/8 straight version and reducing the travel down to 120/100. I see CRC have loads of Manitou CSUs going cheap. I was wondering whether a CSU off another fork would do the job. I’m thinking all it would take is a CSU with the same top thread and bottom snap ring and hey presto! New lower travel forks that I can put on a spare frame for the OH.

I’ve only had the forks for a year and now got some Pikes. it’s a shame to see these forks lying around useless…

Ask the distributors, or I’d suggest talking to a suspension tuner/specialist who deals with Manitou, if you get no luck on here. J-Tech Suspension do off-hand (other ppl are available)
