They are saying that Gilbert will hoover up loads of intermediates in the mts because he can climb much better than Cav.

In a completely unbiased way, it would be a shame if the revisions to the points competition didn’t result in a proper sprinter winning it.

why? because as a team they are far exceeding what they are expected be capable of. unless they blow up next week and fall out the back door.

he may be a good climber, but the points are reduced in mountain stages for both intermiadiate sprints and finishes, so unless he’s in the top 10, which is very very unlikely he’ll be getting a couple of points here and there. and if he does that he’ll be exhausted for the final sprint in Paris, which has 35 points attached to it.

I’d read that the green jersey is actually officially for most consistent finisher, so I don’t get why there’s intermediate points anyway… anyone the wiser?
