So I’ve left it a bit late to sort out somewhere to stay to go up and see Stage 1. This means I’m looking further out for accommodation, which is OK as I’d be happy to ride ~20 miles or something to get to somewhere along the route.

My question is how easy this will be- when do they close the roads, and what does that mean really for bikes? Anyone know?

In france it means bikes can use them no bother till the caravan comes through.

In the uk the police will probably accuse you of plotting if you try and ride on the “closed road”

Thanks TR. It’d be quite early as I’d expect it’ll be 6 deep at the steep bits I’d probably go for.

EDIT: How far ahead does the caravan come through?

No real help but this was how we watched the last live cycling over here, they came round every 3 mins but was still a bit of a blur. The food was good though 🙂
