    Thta’s exactly the route you’d draw if you wanted to keep it all as far from the UK as possible!

    Etape du Tour route is the Briancon – Col d’Izoard.

    Well then, looks ok on the outside. A heartland Tour, clearly aligned to the heart of Europe.

    We will need biometric passports before long, best get this trip in before the barbed wire runs the length of coastline and we are asked to man the searchlights.

    That’s an interesting point, given not only brexit but the TfL debacle.

    Two stages near me too. Could ride to Longwy and Mondorf in under an hour from here. I’ll definitely do Longwy.

    Vittel stage looks interesting, wonder if they go through the Vosges..

    I’d assume they do, as the stage finishes at the Planche des Belle Filles and it’s a pretty short stage so there will be a lot of climbing.

    Great, I’ll call my mate who has a ski lodge in Xonrupt-Longemer.. Didn’t get the opportunity to go this year…
