  • Tax car without MOT certificate … can it be done ?

    Just come to sort my car tax out and cant find the MOT certificate .. i know its mot`ed till october, so question is can i tax my car without it ?

    Online if you have the renewal notice or v5

    tax it online with the reminder. They will look up the mot and insurance electronically.

    As above, do it online and the system automagically checks the MOT status.

    You can also get a copy of the certificate either from the DVLA or garage that MOT’d it, just in case.

    If you can’t do it online for some reason, call DVLA and they’ll do it for you. I lost my Van MOT and I had an old logbook that had the old version of their logbook number on and I couldn’t apply for my Tax online, I called them up, they then taxed the Van and sent me a new version of the logbook update..
