Probably a daft question, and I'm sure I know the answer anyway, but is it possible to fit tapered steerer Fox 36 to my Turner 5 Spot (currently on 1 1/8 Pikes)?

Is this going to be like the daft headset question?

Resisting the temptation to post a daft answer (though it is hard…),
    – no you can't.
Five spots have inch and eighth headtubes, so you can only fit inch and eighth forks. To fit a tapered steerer fork the frame would either need to have a tapered headtube, or an inch and a quarter one. In the case of the latter size, you'd need a reducer headset at the top end of the steerer.
The turner website has a good tech section which probably deals with this: worth a look

    Well, you'd need a very big hammer…

Should be possible with a big enough hammer.

Edit – 2 big hammers better

OK, I should have known better than to ask… 😳

    But thanks anyway for confirming.

surely the reducer would be at the bottom end of the steerer, unless I've misunderstood tapered headsets?

    Even I could have answered that one and I'm a girl… 🙄 😉
