Just back from Marin. On Friday night I had a great ride on the back of a tandem down the Bear Valley Trail to Arched Rock under a full moon. What a laugh. When we were under the tree canopy we had the lights on. All I could see was the comedy silouette of the steerer. I had no idea what was coming next, riding blind around rocky singletrack with big drops hidden by ferns.

If you've never tried it, give it go.

We snuck up on surprised Roe Deer and Rackoons.

You're a bit slow jumping on that particular wagon. 😉

Mind you you wouldn't get me on the back of ours in the light nevermind the dark.

    Tandemshore's the new niche

    OK then.

    Tandemshore's the latest rehashedoldideaniche. 🙄 😉

Soon to be overtaken by mcm's tandemnightshore with no stoker niche.

A 'mate' of mine talked me into doing the South Downs Way on the back of a tandem after I'd entered an orgainised event as a solo.
I was map reader so I told him a turn was coming up and we only went a couple of yards past the 'bush' we had to go right at but he moaned and didn't talk to me for the next 60 odd miles until we called it a day at Ditchling Beacon (near home !) It was the hottest day of the year and he got heatstroke so didn't even recognise paths we'd regularly ridden !
I miss my tandem – but not my 'mate'.
