Thinking about giving my old Rebas a new lease of life. A respray would look ok, but polishing would look better.

Anything I need to consider before getting started? The plan is to strip them down myself and get them serviced at TF Tuned when I'm done.

Avoid polishing if they're Magnesium, it's very corrosion prone, i've actually seen old Rock-shox corroded back to the stanchion where they'd been polished and left unprotected.

Ah. Do you think a clear lacquer would work? I did this to a bare alloy frame which looked pretty good, it was stuff from an auto restorers which air-dried…

    don't do it.

the alloys that are used are buggers for corrosion.
