Ok, so now I’ve bought my Vaya,

I want to start planning some touring.

So, what do you use, and any recomendations please?

I use Ortliebs, Back Roller Plus, with one of their bar bags.
Yes, they’re good, but not the be all and end all like some people say.
Insides aren’t smooth, some of the mounting hardwear protrudes into the bag, so you have to be careful not to rip or scratch stuff.

If I was starting again though, I’d go for Carradice – just as good and five miles down the road.

The youngest stepdaughter uses Edinburgh Bike Coop ones:
Made by Vaude, apparantly, but simpler and cheaper – they really are excellent VFM – just as good as my Ortliebs at half the price.

For commuting, I moved from rucksack to cheap pannier to Ortlied pannier. I think the latter is well worth the extra money over others for long-lasting quality. Spa were the cheapest shop

    I know, I know…

Mid life biking crisis I guess..

or, just the realisation, I’m more suited to riding on my own (Very slow) pace.. 🙁

wors, it’s the welded plastic ones my stepdaughter uses.
    Used for years without issue.

No experience of the fabric EBC Revolutions, but they look a bit Vaude-ish too. 😀

    Good shop that.

Maybe, maybe not, but either way, I value your company fella.

Need to sort out a few of the plans we talked about.

Pretty sure it says on the EBC site that they’re made by Vaude

Ortlieb classic roller tops for me. I’ve done a number of long tours with them. One of the quick release roll straps broke after about 9000 miles, Ortlieb replaced it by return post. Good company, great service.
