    Stepson’s fancying one & Crimbo’s coming. Seems like a bit of a minefield…cordless, mains, 4000, 8200. Which do you reckon for £80-£100 & are there any places cheaper than others?

    What does he want to use it for and where? I would always go for mains powered if possible.

    Cordless is certainly convenient, but rechargeable batteries only last for so many years. A corded one will still work any time you plug it in.
