Just an OK broadband provider and phone provision.

Are their support actually based in the UK ?

Whats your experience or rating ?

PS Zen’s to expensive for me.

They’re cheap and you get what you pay for. Been with them for a year and after the the initial hell that was getting everything connected and working, it’s been okay. Phone no problems. Broadband gets sloooooow in the evenings.

    Same experience here as well.

They are fairly cheap, can slow up at times, but are good value.

Never had to use their support though, so I can not comment on that.

Been with them at least a year, probably nearer two & not had any problems.

Broadband is always pretty quick but we live near the Exchange I think.

As we’ve had no problems, it’s hard to judge their customer service.

Absolutely appalling. I have been without access to my email account for over a month and counting. As above, go elsewhere.

    They sound awful 🙁

Of to look elsewhere. What a minefeild this is.

Just left Pipex [been with since 2003] and they have gone to pot as well 🙁

Got my MAC code quickly from them though.

Thanks for the info and comments people.

You know what would be good is dialup broadband of some kind… just like the old freeserve days.

With TalkTalk for the past 3 years. No problems here. Get around 16-17meg although in the eve it drops to about 13meg. Cheap and cheerful. Parents also use it with no problems.

Fairly quick here but I’m near the exchange. They did take forever to set it up when I moved house though, I was without internet for nearly 2 months (had been with them at my previous address but clearly the complex issue of me moving house was too much for them).

Was with Tiscali/TT for 4yrs. BB reliability was rubbish, downloads went from pretty good to painfully slow in that time. Customer service with TT is appalling. Have now jumped ship to Virgin, should have done it ages ago in retrospect. D/loading a 350meg tv show episode in ~10mins is nice.

I’m with Talk Talk and I haven’t been able to receive incoming calls for 2 weeks now – same thing happened to someone else I know. So they’re not good a fixing problems.

I had loads of problems with talk talk, I was quite a distance from the exchange. after two months of no internet i got them on sales of goods act and was completely refunded. I went with virgin – you get what broadband speed you pay for.

if you are near the exhange you may well be fine?

We lost phone service 4 times in past 6 months, BB really slow, final nail was totally not interested when I asked why so many problems and when I told them I wanted to move they were terribly unhelpful it took ages to get moved to another provider.

The cheek of it I had a door to door salesman knock the door lastnight from talktalk and the poor dude got both barrels – I told him to get a new job!!

My wireless broadband hasn’t worked since I’ve been with them. Made me change the router from the BT one, not a techy so don’t know why.

appalling for me, six months of hassle trying to get it to work reliably, it was slow when it did, and then another six months arguing about why i refused to pay for it – never again!

I’ve not used them myself but I don’t hear good things from people who do. I think the MD actually has his own parking space outside the Watchdog studio at the BBC.

Luck of the draw – some use a product no probs but some have hell with them.

I know its good to save cash but I’d rather pay a bit more for the service as BT/Virgin are known to have probs but ok to fix.

When I worked for BT tech, Talk Talk were giving customers hell but I guess with different phone and broadband some wires will get crossed.

Used BT, Be there, Virgin and no probs and odd cut off when something goes down.

If you’re saving loads -try them especially an internet feed without the phone line.

Absolutely appalling, do not go with them.
Terrible broadband speed, non-existant customer service. Will withhold your MAC code if you want to leave.
    Do a google search.

Been with them since launch – customer service is India, and shit, although they do have tech support in the north west. Having said that I’ve nit any pobkems since and speed is generally good

Was with Tiscali and was ‘automatically’ moved to Talk Talk… No problems so far and speeds seem reasonable.

No probs here. Been using them and Tiscali before them for years.

I get line rental, 8 meg BB and free evening/weekend calls for £18 a month; can’t find anything cheaper.

Never used customer service due to never having had an issue.

Speed is ok (consistently 5-6 Mbps, though a bit slower at peak times). Upload speed is poor and duplex performance is ropey, but that’s due to weak wireless signal between desktop and router – must upgrade to a N router and card.

Precisely the same here. We’ll be changing when the contract’s up.

We’ve been with tiscali and talktalk for about six years and three house moves; one of moves went a bit funny (we moved house but took the phone number, I think this confused them!) but other than that they’ve been fine. We’ve never seen any noticeable slow periods at any time of day, the phone has been fine and being able to talk to other talktalk customers for free at any time even on the cheapest package is most handy. I haven’t found anywhere cheaper so I’m happy enough.

Try logging onto your e-mail at the moment has been a pain in the ass for too long now and is still to be a pain until the 31st october!

Talk talk employing monkeysnumpties to fix it and advetising their apparently oh so godly skillz under the log in bit.

Shame on you, sort it out!

    TalkTalk are crap.

As ever; go to http://www.samknows.com, put in your details, pick an LLU provider that isn’t TalkTalk, Tiscali or AOL.

I can’t list all the crap I’ve had with them.

If you hae the patience of a saint then eventually after numerous phonecalls you can get a reasonable service. What annoys me most is the default throttling of traffic.

You know, when you were having problems and someone suggested you keep a log, that’s not what they meant.

I’ve been with them for around 6 months and recently got a letter saying that although I’d ticked a box to go ex-directory with my phone contract they had listed me in the directory by accident.

Plus the broadband speed can be temperamental.

Does seem cheap though, what provider do others recommend?

My dad’s with them. Had been with BT for years with no issues, jsut a tiny bit pricy.

Went to Talktalk. – Loses connection for weeks on end, take forever to fix faults. Half his bill is refunds for no service.

Avoid like the plague. He is going straight back to BT, as for the extra couple of quid, which is frankly a pint or two, he heds faults sorted out asap, by the same man who talktalk take 6w to send.

I didn’t get on with them. The broadband service was poor as was the customer support.

However, the phone bills were cheap. So it’s swings and roundabouts.

I’m now with Virgin Media and the BB is much better but the calls more expensive. As I have no friends and spend all my time surfing porn, it’s not so bad though.
