tacx is £95 and cycleops £128

are they both good or is one better?

I have a tacx bluemotion, which is very similar, but cost me £115-odd. Does the bluetwist have a barmounted resistance changer thingy – it’s worth having if not.

there is this one with remote. looks like older model.

is a remote a must then?

the turbo will be for intervals and not much else

If you’re going to use trainerroad then the resistance remote is not of use (you change effective resistance with gearing).

Well I like having it, but you can get away without it if you’re happy to just shift through the gears or run it fixed in one position. I tend to do little intervals of 5 mins/10mins at different resistance.

This is one I got – blue matic not blue motion, apologies.

I got the cycleops mag plus…all good but the remote doesnt seem to make things harder.

when I move the lever the wire does move something on the unit…but nothing happens in terms of the resistance.

    any ideas?
