Does anyone have the new Nexus 7? Are they big enough to watch movies on?

I am also looking at the IPad mini, but that is quite a lot more money.

    Grrrr, wrong forum. Sorry.

    I have a nexus 7. It’s awesome….mostly.
Big enough to watch movies in bed but probably not as a living room centerpiece…

I’m assuming the new one is the same size as the old one. Watched films going to New York no problem.

Am I right in saying they don’t have SD card storage expansion?

New one won’t be in the play store for a few of weeks.

Any experiences of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 owner here, think they’re really good for the money.

The Nexus doesn’t have a SD card slot. You can get an OTG cable and a media importer app for the old one, I assume the new is the same.

The Nexus (any Android device) is, however, IME much easier to get content onto and off of than an iPad (and presumably any iOS device).

I had a Galaxy Tab 2 once, it was a dog. Sent it back to Amazon for a refund. The Nexus knocks it for six.

What year was your Samsung? They changed the processor after the first version.

Had it Octoberish last year, I think. Have they made multiple versions of the Tab 2 (rather than Tab vs Tab 2) then?

    No, I don’t think so.

Yes it’s the same size, bring 7 inches.

The nexus 10 is really worth a look. The screen is amazing and front facing speakers sound fantastic. Coupled with Dropbox you can’t go wrong.

The trouble is I like to load movies onto it for flights, which means dropbox isn’t much use.

Plus, the Nexus 10 is a different price range completely.

You can download from Dropbox to the local drive, though.

I have the original 7″ Galaxy Tab, it’s fine for watching films on – although obviously a bigger similar resolution screen would be better. The size is great for when you’re out and about.

    Yeah, I appreciate that, but

t does limit the amount you can download to the tablet itself.

I have one of the first gen Asus Transformer tablets and the SD storage really is a godsend.

An OTG cable and the media importer app will set you back about £5 total.
