Since trail centre car parks are t5 owners clubs these days….

Seen avery nice 2007 T5 caravalle 2.5 130hp witha 6 speed auto…..are they any good?

and can you use it as a manual like the fords?

finally will it die pulling a van load of people with bikes on trailer up alpine roads?

Reliability reputations on those boxes aren’t great and when they fail it’s a £2.5-3k bill to repair them. For hard use in mountains with a trailer then manual every time.

Get a 1.9tdi manual and get it re-mapped.. way cheaper to fix when they go wrong and easier to work on yourself

In the far east almost everyone is using auto gear …

Not a German car but most of them use Toyota Hiace auto as mini bus and their road condition is far from perfect.

    I have a Toyota Corolla 1.6 auto …

We had a VW at work with that engine and gearbox, it was truly awful. Not a fan of automatics anyway but it has to be one of the worst I’ve driven and we used to have Chevvie G30s.
