Everybody keep talking about that place, so I will give a go, count me in! My October's week ends are all full, and now my November's are almost getting full as well. No rest.

10 mins down a fast-flowing road. You should be able to get a train to Reading from Portsmouth and then change for London Waterloo via Feltham. Or if you get a train to Surbiton I can fetch you from the station no problem.

Oh-oh! Will they be some of those single girls looking for more than a day's biking? if so i'd better not turn up
Martin's Heron is closest, take the Reading to Waterloo line.

I will need to confirm with the girls (emailed the GWR girls today), but if its just little old me I would love a lift!
Thanks for the offer Nick and stm. DezB is near Petersfield, is that right? He might be coming to Q E Park on the 10th October if your up for it too?
Had our first weekly ride last night, I was happy to see it featured on the strong island blog. Hope we make it through the winter and dont pussy out!

XC_PK, might be able to give you a lift, it all depends on whether I need to collect someone from Basingstoke. I'll be coming from Andover so it's only just up the road for me. I'll keep you informed. Where in Newbury?

    Posted 2 years ago #
  24. podman - Member

I'm coming from Kingsclere (near Newbury), there's a few of us coming from this area, anybody fancy hiring a mini bus for the day?

    Posted 2 years ago #
  25. XC_PK - Member

MM Im up in Shaw (top right bit of Newbury)
PM If there is a space in a car for me that would be great. Otherwise hire a van to lob the bikes in?? How many are coming from your way?

looks like it's going to be a great day! really looking forward to it! my skillz should be top notch cos i'll be at afan the day before (of course anyone that knows me knows that's total rubbish! )

LoulaBella - can you please remove the details of this from your Facebook page. It is an event for the Singletrackworld community, many of whom I have had the privilege of meeting and riding with over the years.

Whilst I do not have any objection to people inviting others, I don't want it advertised to all and sundry and particularly not as a singletons cattle market.

    Thank you.

is it one group or more??

I think CG is planning on getting people who can guide different groups pencilled in and then work out what actually happens depending on numbers on the day. I'd be showing people the best singletrack and jumpy stuff if enough fancy that rather than a longer xc ride.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the trails at swinley large groups don't really work if you want to have a good ride.

The morning ride would be few hours and meet up for lunch. I'm happy to show people more stuff after lunch.

Elaine - Did you get my email?

  34. Hairychested - Member

C'mon, just turn up, no attitude but plenty of humour instead, have fun.
Last time CG organised Swinley it was great. Broken frames, snapped chains, frozen Camelbacks, lovely!
