Everybody keep talking about that place, so I will give a go, count me in! My October's week ends are all full, and now my November's are almost getting full as well. No rest.
SolamandaYou should lead a group for jumps and drops.
That's the plan, are you coming G?
Yep ride there regular at Swinley.
Good fun, but you do have to look out for young T-wats
walking up has your coming down runs such as Baby Maker etc.
Il be up for it !
i'm going to try to make it.i usually ride herts shore religiously on sundays but hopefully i can make it unless work gets in the way
Should be able to come, just got to figure a way of getting there from Portsmouth, sometimes I wish I could drive, not often though.
theres about 3 train stations within about a 10 min ride of Swinley, no excuses!
If I can get the time off work yes please. It would be the slackers group for me
Cheers
Andy
Whats the nearest train station?
Martins Heron
Cheers! Right 7am train from Pompey it is, looking forward to it, umm I will be in your group C-G.

10 mins down a fast-flowing road. You should be able to get a train to Reading from Portsmouth and then change for London Waterloo via Feltham. Or if you get a train to Surbiton I can fetch you from the station no problem.
Thanks for the offer HC but there might be 3 of us ladies.
I'll be coming from near Reading way so happy to pickup one/two from Reading Station on the way.
3 ladies I can manage without bikes, sorry!
If I'm coming I could cart a bike or two up from Surbiton (I live across the river from HC).
is it one group or more??
Thanks for the offer HC but there might be 3 of us ladies.
Anyone going from Newbury(ish) that I could blag a lift with??
There could be a cake/Haribo incentive...
I will be heading up from Southampton with one spare seat and room for one bike if you dare get in a car with me!
Ditto the WCA post. Depends on Dezb, but there may the possibility of a lift from Pompey as i am coming from HI.
Hope its not minus 7 this time.
I will need to confirm with the girls (emailed the GWR girls today), but if its just little old me I would love a lift!
Thanks for the offer Nick and stm. DezB is near Petersfield, is that right? He might be coming to Q E Park on the 10th October if your up for it too?
Had our first weekly ride last night, I was happy to see it featured on the strong island blog. Hope we make it through the winter and dont pussy out!
XC_PK, might be able to give you a lift, it all depends on whether I need to collect someone from Basingstoke. I'll be coming from Andover so it's only just up the road for me. I'll keep you informed. Where in Newbury?
I'm coming from Kingsclere (near Newbury), there's a few of us coming from this area, anybody fancy hiring a mini bus for the day?
MM Im up in Shaw (top right bit of Newbury)
PM If there is a space in a car for me that would be great. Otherwise hire a van to lob the bikes in?? How many are coming from your way?
looks like it's going to be a great day! really looking forward to it! my skillz should be top notch cos i'll be at afan the day before (of course anyone that knows me knows that's total rubbish!
)
LoulaBella - can you please remove the details of this from your Facebook page. It is an event for the Singletrackworld community, many of whom I have had the privilege of meeting and riding with over the years.
Whilst I do not have any objection to people inviting others, I don't want it advertised to all and sundry and particularly not as a singletons cattle market.
Thank you.
Sisters of Gnarr are gonna rock Swinley
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im sorry, its been taken down, just a bit enthusiastic!
well mr o...........that's the plan!
yeah cause you 2 got SKILLZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and im banking on learning a few more in afan dontcha know.....no pressure or anything!
is it one group or more??
I think CG is planning on getting people who can guide different groups pencilled in and then work out what actually happens depending on numbers on the day. I'd be showing people the best singletrack and jumpy stuff if enough fancy that rather than a longer xc ride.
Unfortunately due to the nature of the trails at swinley large groups don't really work if you want to have a good ride.
The morning ride would be few hours and meet up for lunch. I'm happy to show people more stuff after lunch.
Elaine - Did you get my email?
C'mon, just turn up, no attitude but plenty of humour instead, have fun.
Last time CG organised Swinley it was great. Broken frames, snapped chains, frozen Camelbacks, lovely!
im deffo there unless i get booked for trailbuilding
