A spell of late night boredom prompted a review of summer’s Alpine footage and spawned one last edit.

Did you go with a company or self planned?

Got a flight, accommodation & transfers package with Alpine Elements – good value, no complaints.
Bought the Mont Blanc multipass and explored the valley on our own with some advice from local/expat bikers and maps/guide books.
Didn’t miss a guide – works out cheaper and you’re free to plan your own time. There’s PLENTY of awesome trails to discover – somewhere I would definitely visit again.

Mostly Patriots cardo, with me on an Alpine.
Developed a case of 180mm fork envy over the holiday…
Have enjoyed riding 5’s in’t Alps but find that burlier is better for the steep/techy descents we tend to seek out.

The little tweaks that Jimbob puts in his vids that make em good I think
Heftier forks etc help out there for the bikes to survive more than owt
160mm perfect out there as long as built up to take a battering

I keep watching these kind of videos or maybe they are the same group of riders i don’t know, but find them most enjoyable, slightly different i would say,.
i rode Chamonix years back and seriously they are hard trails to ride, the hardest i have rode in the Alps,i down pushed most of it 😯
