I’ve got a set of 2014 Recon Gold TK’s on my bike and for the first time this weekend I felt the damping was a little lacking while descending Jacobs Ladder and Rushup Edge – it’s the first time I’ve ridden in the Peaks for a while and it doesn’t make up my normal riding.

What I was thinking is, can the basic TK damper cartridge be swapped out for something like the Motion Control cartridge out of a Reba / SID like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RockShox-Remote-MoCo-DNA-Comp-Damper-SID-REBA-RLT-/370969514000?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item565f819010 ?

I guess this if for a 32mm fork?

I would also be looking at the rebound unit. But at that point you might want to be considering a new fork…

No point changing the compression damper unless you replace the rebound damper as well really, so will be about £100 for both (moco & matching rebound damper) plus labour

So much cheaper than a fork then, labour isn’t an issue as I can twiddle spanners and Allen keys quite effectively.
