So I have a Merlin Malt 4 bike. I bought it back in I believe January 2006 and so could be said to be over five years old now. However it is pretty much the frame and the wheels which are left over from when I bought it, everything else has been replaced. The bike has seen hardly any use since I've been in uni (past 3 years) with only occasional trips up to Nant-y-Arian maybe once or twice a term or something so you can be sure that the majority of the replaced parts (and stock parts for that matter) are in very good condition!
So, the specs are:
Forks - Fox F80 (bought these 2nd hand in 2008, they are in extremely good condition showing no signs of wear - I'm guessing this is because of the little use they've received!)
Wheels - Mavic 717 rims on Deore hubs
Brakes - Hope Mono Mini (front), Magura Julie (rear)
Chainset - Shimano LX (good condition)
Rear Mech - XT shadow (v.good condition)
Front Mech - LX
Cassette - LX
Tyres - Specialized Revolution (front - amazingly grippy tyre), Conti Speed King (rear)
Finishing kit - Easton EA50 flat bars, specialized carbon seatpost, Bioflex 195g saddle (surprisingly comfortable!), FSA stem
The headset will need replacing but I will do that myself before I sell it.
Basically what I'd like in return is a cyclocross bike of some description. I don't do enough on the mtb to justify having it but as the cx bike is so much more versatile I'd use it a lot more! Let me know what you have and we can come to some deal!
Just as a guide I'd imagine I'd sell the Merlin for around £400 if I was to sell it so a used cx bike in that range would be great!
